It’s been a while since I updated the blog, and late summer has been creeping its way into early fall. I love this time of year! It’s been a drizzly week with cool temperatures and the occasional clear blue sky.
In the garden, what I’m perhaps most excited about is several pounds of red ripe jalapeños we’ve been harvesting in the past few weeks. This weekend, hopefully, my husband will be able to smoke them to make chipotles, that most glorious hot chili. We’ll save some dried, and I also hope to put up a few cans of chipotles in homemade adobo sauce. Yumm…bring on the cozy fall and winter evenings with a mug of steamy smoky chili using the summer’s bounty!
